Time flowed quietly, and several months passed in the blink of an eye.

They had followed PRL’s suggestion, using two sets of cobalt-60 to simulate mirror images—rotating one set to the left and the other to the right. The result showed that the two were asymmetrical, not matching the physical characteristics of mirror-image objects.

PRL (repeating into the receiver and murmuring to itself):
