Abstract

This paper aims to propose and elucidate a quantum theoretical framework based on "Topological Vortex" to address several fundamental dilemmas in the interpretation of traditional quantum mechanics. The theory asserts that the essence of quantum reality is not a probability wave or an uncertain superposition state, but the most fundamental topological structure of spacetime—the topological vortex. This paper first argues against the macroscopic cognitive fallacy arising from analogizing quantum states to "Schrödinger's cat," then clarifies that topological vortices, as stable, discrete spacetime-energy units, inherently explain the origin of quantization through their intrinsic spin property. Finally, and most revolutionarily, the theory introduces the Kantian philosophical concept of the "thing-in-itself," effecting a fundamental separation between the "noumenal entity" and the "phenomenal entity." This move completely resolves the central role of the "observer" in creating reality, establishing an objective, realist ontological foundation for quantum theory that stands in fundamental opposition to the positivist tradition inherent in conventional interpretations.

Introduction

Beginning with the Fallacy of the "Dead-and-Alive Cat" The thought experiment "Schrödinger's Cat," proposed by Erwin Schrödinger in 1935, was originally intended not to elucidate quantum phenomena but to reveal the absurd conclusions resulting from the Copenhagen interpretation's crude extrapolation of microscopic quantum superposition states to the macroscopic world[1,2]. A cat cannot be simultaneously "dead and alive" because this metaphor fundamentally misconstrues the nature of the quantum.

From the perspective of Topological Vortex Theory (TVT), the "cat" paradox stems from a false premise: that a quantum entity exists in a diffuse, probabilistic "wave function" form when not observed. TVT poses a fundamental challenge to this: A quantum is never a "state," but an "entity." It is not a cat wavering between life and death, but an objectively existing vortex entity with a stable topological structure in spacetime. The so-called "superposition state" does not mean an entity is in two places or two states at once, but rather represents our incomplete description of the complex dynamical behavior of this topological entity in spacetime. Comparing a quantum to a cat is a fallacious reduction of a high-order geometric-dynamical problem to a low-order, binary state problem.
